Jazz Songs of Innocence - Blackwood

  • St Peters Lutheran Church 71 Cumming Street Blackwood, SA, 5051 Australia (map)

JAZZ SONGS OF INNOCENCE was inspired by the painter, poet and mystic, William Blake’s most famous writingSongs of Innocence and Experience. British composer, Bob Chilcott, has set 5 of Blake’s timeless themes of wisdom and humanity into a jazz-influenced work – JAZZ SONGS OF INNOCENCE. The music is exquisitely beautiful and matches perfectly the tenderness of the text. Come and immerse yourself in this glorious work!!

The program also includes the rousing and well-known classical choral works - ‘Hodie’ and ‘Festival Sanctus’ from the pen of American composer, John Leavitt. Ring Silver Bells, Sleigh Ride and Mele Kalikimaka also feature in the program. In addition, the Illumina Voices Hand Chime Ensemble will ring in the joy of the upcoming Christmas Season.

This is a concert of gorgeous choral music and it is an absolute JOY to present!!
